Children at a nursery based on Hull's Victoria Dock will get their dancing shoes on this Friday, 19 March, to raise money for Sport Relief.
Youngsters from Little Learners, a day nursery owned by Sewell Group, will dress up as sports stars, like David Beckham and Amy Williams, strutting their stuff in a 'dance-athon', to raise money for poor and vulnerable people both in the UK and overseas.
Led by nursery staff members children will dance around the purpose-built facility for an hour, each dressed up as their favourite sports personality.
Becky Andrew, acting nursery manager, said: "Everyone's really looking forward to the event, both children and staff. It's nice to do something a little bit different and although most days the children are full of energy I'm sure even they'll be feeling drained after an hour of non-stop dancing, no matter how much fun it is.
"We managed to raise over £500 doing our Royal Day for Children in Need so we're hoping with the various activities we have on throughout the day that we can at least equal, if not better, that total."
Children have been getting sponsored for the 'dance-athon' individually and will also all pay a small fee to wear sports wear on Friday.
Rachel Corr, Head of People at Sewell Group, said: "We're very proud of the fundraising efforts that Little Learners go to. The team managed to raise an impressive amount for Children in Need at the end of last year and now they're determined to do even better this time around.
"It's a brilliant cause and everybody at Sewell Group wishes them the best of luck in achieving their target."
