Twenty-one children from Sewell Group owned nursery, Little Learners, based on Victoria Dock, in Hull, will be celebrating the end of the school year in a very grown up way on Wednesday.
In the same week that university students are graduating from Hull University, the nursery is holding a cap and gown graduation ceremony for the children who will be starting primary school in September.
The ceremony, held at Victoria Dock Village Hall on Southbridge Road, will give the children an opportunity to celebrate the development and progress achieved at Little Learners. The graduation will close with each child receiving their Degree of Learning through play and the traditional cap throwing.
Children's parents, friends and relatives will be invited to come and watch their children, dressed up in full graduation regalia at the ceremony in the Village Hall which will mark the end of their time with the nursery.
Rachel Gouldson, nursery manager, said: "We're really looking forward to the ceremony, as we do every year. The children always get quite excited about dressing up for graduation and the robes they wear for it make them feel quite grown up and important.
"Of course we'll be sad to see them go, its never easy saying goodbye at the end of the year but seeing how excited they are about going off to "big school" and majority of them joining our School Stars Club makes it much easier."
Graham Atkins, director for development and investment said: "Little Learners graduation is a fantastic afternoon for the children, it's a lovely way for them to remember the nursery, get a "degree" for everything they?ve achieved and for them to say their goodbyes to the Little Learners team."
