Little Learners played host to some very special guests this week to celebrate the outstanding work undertaken by the men and women from our emergency services. The event was designed to showcase the work of those who serve and protect as well as being an opportunity to say a big 'thank you' for caring. The week, entitled, 'Special People Who Help Us' was arranged by staff at the nursery alongside Humberside Fire and Rescue, Humberside Police and Humberside Ambulance Service.
The Fire Brigade, Police Officers and Paramedics all visited the nursery to speak with the children and give them a closer look at their emergency vehicles. It was also an opportunity for the children to learn more about what they need to do to stay safe.
Becky Andrew, Acting Manager at Little Learners, said: "The aim of the week was to say thank you to the people who help us and everyone was very excited to meet some real life heroes. The children had the chance to talk to some of the city's 'people who help us' as well as having the opportunity to take a closer look at police motorcycles, fire engines and a paramedic car and motorbike. It's been a very beneficial learning exercise - one which we all thoroughly enjoyed."
