Opened in 2003, our purpose-built nursery is next door to Victoria Dock Primary School, allowing us to offer a seamless learning experience for your child from a young age and throughout their education.

Opening times

We’re open weekdays between 7.15am to 6pm for our nursery children and we also run a breakfast, after-school and holiday club for children aged 4 to 11.

Our rooms

Each of our age groups have their own area, from Busy Babies (6 weeks to 1 year) to Tiny Tots (1-2 years), Clever Clogs (2-3 years) to Little Learners (3-5 years) and School Stars (3-11 years). Each room is tailored to the age group to allow children to thrive, learn and develop in the best environment possible.

Exploring our garden

We encourage our children to explore our outdoor space as much as possible by keeping a stock of all-weather suits for children to wear. Our garden has a dedicated area for 0-2 year olds with small equipment to help them to start moving with confidence and our older children (2+) have an area with a hill to climb, a tunnel, a playhouse, wicker hut, storytelling corner and an outdoor chalkboard.

Growing and Learning

We ensure every child is developing in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It sets the standards that must be met to make sure that each child develops well and is kept healthy and safe.

Tailored for each child

We consider the individual needs, interests, and stage of development of each child and use this information to plan activities.

We focus on the 3 prime areas of:

Communication and language – planning activities that involve children learning how to express themselves and to speak and listen to others.

Physical development – making sure our children are as active as possible and make healthy food choices.

Personal, social and emotional development – we help our children to learn to respect one another, manage their feelings, and have confidence in theirown abilities.

Dedicated key workers

Each child is allocated a dedicated key worker who focuses on getting to know everything about your child and observing and recording their development while they’re with us. They’re also on hand to talk to you whenever you visit the nursery and at our parent evenings.

Keeping parents informed

Our communication with parents is very important to us, we have an open door policy to welcome parents, carers, grandparents and siblings to visit anytime and we also send regular news updates via email, text and twitter.

Fun events

We plan a diary of events every year for our children to celebrate important festivals, to involve their family and friends in the nursery and to make outings to parks and farms, we also hold special graduation ceremonies when children move on to primary school. See our diary of events for more details.

Safeguarding

Our first priority is to ensure your child is safe and secure. We regularly review our systems from our recruitment procedures to the security on entering and leaving the building. We have a fingerprint system to gain access/exit and all our external areas are covered by CCTV. On our internal reception door we also have a keypad entry system. We have stringent recruitment, collection and security policies that are adhered to by all the team and our parents.
